We realize that the pricing schedule for Words & Music is complicated because of the exciting array of events we are presenting for you. This year’s pricing represents an attempt to simplify somewhat!
Winners of our competition are our guests for the festival, including lunches. The only extras for winners are limited registration workshops.
Runners-up in our competition are our guests for writers tuition package but must pay for their own travel and for lunches and limited registration workshops.
Other finalists are eligible for 50% discounts. Semi-finalists are eligible for 25% discounts.
Bonafide students with current student IDs or teacher nomination letters are eligible for complimentary discussion passes. Complimentary Discussion Packages do not include manuscript critiques or tickets for any food and wine events or limited registration workshops. There are no discounts for anyone on food and wine events tickets or limited registration workshops.
In addition to the Words & Music writers tuition and all-events packages, you may also choose on an a la carte basis from a variety of luncheon and evening events which feature music, food, and wine. Please note that our prices have not changed. The Writers Tuition Package, includes all events except Literature & Lunch sessions, After Hours at the Napoleon House, and Faulkner for All. Please note the list of inclusions and discounts within the package blurb.

We have a variety of package prices if you want to participate in most or all of the festive. You may also, however, buy a single ticket for a single event.
For credit card reservations, you may register on-line registration at our secure on-line tickets sale site coming soon. Please note that we do not take on-line credit card payment for orders of less than $50. You may register by credit card or check in advance directly with us by printing and completing a registration form and mailing to us with check at Words & Music, Faulkner House, 624 Pirate’s Alley, New Orleans, LA 70116. Mailed Reservations must be accompanied by a reservations form. Individual event tickets can be purchased at the door with cash or ordered in advance with credit card or check payment.
Writers please note: There are discounts on some events for writers registered purchasing tuition packages. These discounts will be reflected where applicable on this page.
Refunds: Full refunds are available on cancellations prior to
October 10, 2016. With regard to registration for tuition and sponsorship packages and workshops, please be certain you wish to register, as we are unable to refund for registrations cancelled after October 10, 2016. Writers forced to cancel after that date will be given full credit for the amount of their registration toward participation in Words & Music, 2017.
Pricing and other details for any additional events of the conference will be posted as soon as schedules of presenters and other details have been determined.
FULL TUITION PACKAGE
There is a 50% discount for BONA FIDE STUDENTS, registering timely (before October 22, 2013). Students must present current, valid student ID with a dated and signed letter of confirmation from a creative writing or English professor at an accredited college or university. Finalists of the William Faulkner-William Wisdom Competition also are eligible for a 50% discount. Authors who attended Words & Music, 2014 and paying full package price, and who register by October 22, may take a $25 discount on writers’ tuition packages only.

Entertainment/food & wine events are priced separately and are not included in Writer Tuition Package. Competition winners and finalists are our guests for Friday evening’s Faulkner for All events. Winners of the Faulkner Wisdom Competition WINNERS are our guests for all events, except Limited Registration Workshops and extra manuscript critiques.
SPECIAL: 3-day, limited registration, hands-on literary arts workshops
NEW for 2016, each workshop will be limited to 12 people per workshop. Each workshop will be taught from 3 different perspectives: author, agent, and acquiring editor. The price of each workshop is $150 per person for the three days.
These workshops are not included in the Writer Tuition Packages offered by the festival. The Working Titles of the Workshops are: (Subject to Change prior to October 1)

Depending on presenters, one of these workshops could changed to a master class. Each workshop will be a total of 9 hours of instruction, 3 hours per day. There will be a bathroom/refreshment break for each session. There will be three morning workshops, 8:30 to 11:30 (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday) and three afternoon workshops, 2:00 to 5:00 (Thursday, Friday, and Saturday). Each three-day
workshop is $150 per person. Each workshop is limited to a maximum of 12 persons.
Deadline for registration for limited registration workshops is October 15, as is the deadline for registering and submitting manuscripts for the one-on-one critique sessions with agents and editors.
DISCUSSION PASS (Readers)
$200 /$100 for Special Friends and Patrons of Faulkner Society
This fee includes all discussions, workshops (except Limited Registration Workshops), and master classes. (NOTE: Manuscript Critiques and Consultations with agents and editors are not included. Entertainment/Luncheon events are priced separately and are not included in these packages. Hotel accommodations not included.
